Watermelon is probably one of my summer highlights. Is it embarrassing to admit I actually did a little happy dance in the grocery store when I saw the first ones this year? Yeah… well…
To me, eating cold, ripe watermelon first thing in the morning on a hot day is nothing short of bliss. I’m not much of a morning person, so waking up to something crunchy, sweet and hydrating helps me feel a little bit more ready for the day.
This simple, watermelon and basil cooler is a cool, refreshing summer drink that kids and adults alike will love. The herbs add another dimension to the watermelon’s flavour, complimenting it beautifully – but if you don’t like them, just leave them out.
This whole drink comes together in about 5 minutes, so you can spend plenty of time outside sipping on it with your friends and family.
